When customers need a high quality tile that allows for a wide range of use cases, count on 2×2 rubber tiles from Greatmats. These tiles have a black base color with multiple custom color flecks in a 20% concentration to provide an interesting look.

Each tile measures 3/8 inches in thickness, so it is possible to do a DIY installation, as these tiles are not quite as heavy as a thicker tile would be.

Size and Shape Options

Each of our 2×2 rubber tiles measures roughly 24 by 24 inches in size. Because of the interlocking edge design on these tiles, customers do not receive the full 4 square feet of coverage that they may expect. The interlock loss is 0.08 feet.

At 3/8 inches in thickness, this tile is versatile. It is thick enough to provide the level of protection customers are seeking for the subfloor, yet individual tiles weigh only 10 pounds. This means that one person can move the tiles into place for the installation and can return them to storage as needed.

The manufacturer guarantees tight manufacturing tolerances for the individual tiles in the set. The thickness and perimeter will be certified accurate to within plus or minus 0.01 inches.

Our manufacturer makes use of recycled rubber tire crumbs to create these tiles. These are safe materials to use in almost any location, even in places where kids or pets will be playing on the floor.

The crumbs are polymerically bound, which ensures that they will stand up to rough treatment without wearing away or crumbling. They will continue to look great for years, even when used in high foot traffic areas.

These recycled materials often allow the tiles to qualify for LEED points when your building needs these points.

Pattern and Texture Options

As with most 2×2 rubber tiles, these Pacific model tiles make use of a black base color. The primary use of black helps to hide soils and scuffs, allowing the customer to clean the flooring less often.

To create a more interesting look in the final layout, the manufacturer adds color flecks over the top of the black. The color flecks mold directly into the black base, which ensures they will not wear away under significant foot traffic.

Because of the tight manufacturing tolerances with the edges of these tiles, they will lock together without the need for using glue or adhesive. Installers can choose to glue them to the subfloor for a permanent layout, if desired, or they can do a dry lay install.

When going tight to a wall or cabinet with the layout, installers may need to cut the jigsaw puzzle style edge off the tile to create a flat edge that’ll fit against the wall.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements
