The 8mm rubber flooring thickness (equal to about 5/16 inches of thickness) means customers can cut it to fit in a room with a sharp utility knife and a straightedge tool. For a wall to wall installation or to fit around stationary objects in the room, cuts will be necessary.

Using adhesive will provide the most secure results, so the glue down install is the better choice in areas where high foot traffic will occur or where exercise equipment may attempt to slide around during use, such as stationary bikes for spin class.

Place the rubber roll in the room where the install will take place for at least 12 hours, allowing it to adjust to the temperature and humidity in the room. (A longer acclimation period will yield better results.)

The manufacturer recommends laying out the pieces of the roll where they will go in the room before applying the glue or tape. This ensures all of the cuts and measurements will fit properly before the installer begins adhering the rubber to the floor, helping to prevent potential mistakes.

If using adhesive instead of tape, apply the adhesive to the subfloor rather than to the back of the rubber pieces. This will simplify the layout process. Using excess adhesive will cause an oozing mess, so carefully apply the glue to match the exact instructions from the manufacturer.
