Our Eureka 8mm tiles carry a 5-year limited manufacturer warranty, so they will deliver a great value for customers. In fact, most customers receive a far greater lifespan from these colored rubber tiles than 5 years. They will stand up to rough treatment, too.

Size and Shape Options

Each tile measures almost 2×2 feet. Because of the interlocking edges that resemble a jigsaw puzzle on all four sides of this tile, its actual dimensions are 23×23 inches.

Customers receive 3.67 square feet of coverage per tile, as there is a slight interlock loss from the puzzle edge. For customers who need help deciding how many tiles to order, which can be tricky because of the interlock loss, contact the Greatmats customer service team.

At 8mm in thickness (or about 5/16 inches), this is a thinner type of rubber tile than some other models we offer. Even at 5/16 inches in thickness, it still provides protection for the subfloor against items like exercise equipment and dumbbells.

The thinner design cuts down on the amount of weight that each tile carries. Because each tile only weighs 7.7 pounds, the install becomes an easier process. You will need fewer people to help with carrying and positioning the tiles as well.

Material Options

We source these colored rubber tiles from a manufacturer in the United States. This gives us and our customers confidence that the materials in use and the manufacturing process deployed are safe.

The resulting tiles are commercial-grade quality, but homeowners can use them too.

The manufacturer uses recycled rubber to create these tiles, meaning they may qualify for LEED points for your building. By reusing and recycling old rubber products into this new flooring, it keeps old products out of the landfill.

Additionally, the manufacturer uses a urethane-based binding agent, which reduces the odor that these tiles create. Some people are susceptible to this smell, which some people describe as similar to a powerful new car smell, so having a reduced odor in this product is a desirable feature.

Pattern and Texture Options

Our colored rubber tiles naturally offer a non-slip surface, as rubber flooring yields traction, even when deployed in damp areas. The manufacturer does not have to add grooves or a raised pattern to the surface of these smooth tiles to create traction, which simplifies the cleaning process.

Even though these tiles have a black base color, the manufacturer added color flecks to the base in a 20% concentration. This yields a more interesting look in the final layout of the flooring.

As part of the finish process, the manufacturer embeds the flecks of color directly into the black rubber, which ensures that they will not wear away under constant foot traffic. The color fleck options available include:

Installation Options

One of the biggest advantages of our colored rubber tiles is that customers can install them as a DIY project, rather than having to call in a professional.

To connect two tiles together, just line up the tabs and slots on the two tiles and press the edges until they connect. The manufacturing process creates extremely precise tabs and slots. It’s easy to make the connection between the two tiles because of the tight measurement tolerances in the manufacturing process.

Additionally, the tabs and slots will remain tightly connected, even when the flooring goes under the stress of people exercising on it, because of the design of the tabs and slots.

You do not need to add glue to the edges of the tiles or to the underside of the tile to secure the layout. The weight of the connected tiles will hold them in place tightly without adhesive.

Cleaning and Maintenance Requirements

Customers appreciate the limited amount of time required to clean and maintain this rubber flooring.

Start the cleaning process by using a broom or a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and other debris from the tiles. When you need to clean the flooring more thoroughly, create a cleaning solution consisting of a neutral pH cleaner and hot water. Apply it with a mop and allow it to dry over a few hours.
