With the Eureka 8mm rubber tiles from Greatmats, customers can easily create a layout that is the perfect size for supporting a workout machine.

These interlocking rubber tiles can protect a small area of the floor in the exercise room. You also can install the tiles throughout the entire width and length of the room, creating full coverage at a reasonable price per square foot.

Size and Shape Options

Our 8mm rubber tiles have a size of 23×23 inches. Because they use a jigsaw puzzle style edge, though, customers do not receive the full coverage area they might expect from these tiles.

The interlock loss per tile is 0.08 feet, which means each tile offers about 3.67 square feet of coverage. Because of the interlocking edge, it can be challenging to order the correct number of tiles to cover a certain section of a room. The Greatmats customer service team can help you with ordering.

At 8mm in thickness, or about 5/16 inches, this is a lightweight style of rubber flooring versus some thicker options. Each tile weighs 7.7 pounds, so a single installer usually can move the tiles around to create the flooring layout.

Material Options

These 8mm rubber tiles consist of recycled rubber crumbs, which makes them environmentally friendly. Rather than having old rubber products end up in the landfill, the design of these tiles gives the rubber materials a new life. These tiles qualify for LEED points for businesses that need them.

Our American-based manufacturer uses a urethane-based binder, which keeps the rubber crumbs tightly bound. Even when placed under the stress of sports workouts, the crumbs have a strong bond that will not crumble or flake away.

The urethane binder also reduces the odor that rubber flooring sometimes has. This rubber smell can be strong in enclosed areas, and some people are highly sensitive to it. Having a reduced odor option in our 8mm rubber tiles is a significant advantage.

Pattern and Texture Options

Rather than sticking with a rubber tile that only has a black color, our Eureka 8mm rubber tiles include a 10% concentration of premium color flecks.

The manufacturer molds these colored flecks of rubber into the black rubber, so they will not wear away under significant foot traffic or rough treatment. The various colors create a more desirable look in the fitness flooring than a black color only.

The options for the color flecks against the black base color include:

The manufacturer does not add a molded texture or grit to the surface of these 8mm rubber tiles. The rubber material has a smooth surface, which simplifies the cleaning process.

Common Use Options

Customers will deploy these rubber tiles in any locations where it is important to give those walking on the floor a sure footing. Customers occasionally can perform a more thorough cleaning on these 5/16-inch rubber tiles by making use of a mixture of hot water and a neutral pH cleaner. Apply the mixture with a mop and let the surface air dry.
